Priscilla Villarreal won the Volunteer of the Year award for her aptitude and dedication to helping her community. Priscilla helped with many projects to clean up parks and aid in building projects that supported the beautification of Laredo.

Esperanza Award
The Esperanza Award was created in 2022 to celebrate Laredo citizens whose yard encapsulates the Keep Laredo Beautiful mission. The focus is less so on the number of plants and trees one had but more on the condition of a person’s yard. Yards are judged on the following criteria: absence of litter/debris, mowed law/hedges trimmed, landscape design, neat and tiny yard, and xeriscaping. One winner is selected per district.
